Caravan Club demonstrates support for Scottish tourism

Europe's premier touring organisation, The Caravan Club, is once again lending its support to Scottish tourism by sponsoring key events during Scottish Tourism Week.

This year marks the fifth year The Caravan Club has co-sponsored (with VisitScotland) the Scottish Tourism Forum's MSPs Reception at the Parliament, which it sees as an effective way of informing those in power of the vital importance of this industry. The Club is also one of the main sponsors of the Scottish Tourism Week Conference 'Delivering for Scotland' at Murrayfield Stadium today.

The Caravan Club operates the largest privately-owned sites network in Scotland, and its 180 locations across the country offer the equivalent of over two million 'bed nights' per annum. Every year Caravan Club members spend more than £18 million directly into local economies when touring in Scotland.

"As a major tourism player, we make every effort to promote the attractions of Scotland to the one million caravanners we represent, north and south of the Border," commented Nick Lomas, Director of Marketing at The Caravan Club.

"We publish regular features in our monthly Magazine, and highlight Scottish sites and events on our website to inspire our members to explore and holiday in this fantastic country. We are delighted to work closely with tourism bodies in Scotland and to support the activities of the Scottish Tourism Forum in this important week for Scottish tourism."
