Monday, 22 March 2010 10:41
Brown Moor Caravan Club Site was unveiled as the Caravan Club Members' Favourite recently at the NEC. The Warden teams representing all six winning Caravan Club sites were honoured in the Calor Caravan Club Awards 2009, as voted by Club Members. Paul Madge, National Accounts Manager at Calor, was on hand to make the presentations to the delighted Wardens during the Boat and Caravan Show today.
Brown Moor Caravan Club Site, in the heart of the stunning Yorkshire Dales National Park, is perfect for walkers, cyclists and wildlife enthusiasts, as well as for sampling the delights of the nearby historic market town of Hawes and as a result has proved to be a favourite with caravanners.
Runners up in the Favourite Site category were Broadway Caravan Club Site on the edge of the lovely Cotswolds village that bears its name, and Seacroft Caravan Club Site on the beautiful north Norfolk coast near Cromer.
This year marks the fourth year that Calor has sponsored the awards and 2009 saw the introduction of some new categories to better reflect what Club Members value most when touring. The winners of these new awards are: -
Best Member Service
Ray and Val Houston, Wardens at Bromyard Downs Caravan Club Site
Best Maintained Site
Min y Don Caravan Club Site, Harlech, North Wales
Best Rated Site
Hillhead Caravan Club Site, near Brixham, Devon
Receiving their awards from Calor at the Show were: Brown Moor Wardens, Ian and Ros McCall; Broadway Wardens, Rob and Helen Latham; Seacroft Wardens, Gary and Nicola Boulden; Gavin Pritchard, Caravan Club Regional Manager, on behalf of Bromyard Downs Wardens, Ray and Val Houston; Min y Don, Park Managers, Richard and Sue Hodgson; and Gary Coole, representing Hillhead Caravan Club Site.
Paul Madge from Calor said: "We would like to congratulate all the winners who represent the best caravan sites in the UK. The competition is extremely stiff and so choosing between some of the most beautiful sites in the country is no easy task, so the winners should take pride in their achievement."
Steve Kovacs, Head of Sites Operations for The Caravan Club commented: "Club Members have responded in their thousands to recognise the service and high quality of the sites they visited. I have nothing but praise for all the hard work and the effort our Warden teams across the country make to ensure visitors have a wonderful holiday, and offer congratulations on behalf of The Club to the teams from these winning sites."
